Pine Siskins and Chipping Sparrows

I know, I know… there are more things than just birds out there. I’m moving on soon, I promise. But these were just fun pictures of the territoriality and verve of these birds.

The chipping sparrows are everywhere in the yard right now. This lone pine siskin (on the tube thistle feeder) was holding them all off. Here’s a chipping sparrow coming in for a very brief landing on the thistle tube:

The pine siskin may not be big, but you don’t want to mess with him!
