The Outside World, In and Around Duluth

Lester River

Now that my foot is finally healing, I’m able to get out. Boy, is it nice to get out!

We took a late afternoon walk along the Lester River, which is well frozen.

There are a few spots where you can reach the water, and they almost all look like this:

You could reach your arm down and maybe reach the river. Maybe not. Definitely good for river skiing.

Did I mention that it was nice to get back out?

    Bryan,

Your blog is very nice, thoughtful and well presented…makes mine look like the amateur effort that is is! Beautiful photos. Reminded me of a few things I love about Duluth, frozen river skiing for example.

I enjoyed your thoughts on OE and EE–let’s discuss while hiking in May!

Yes, I wear my Duluth XC hat with pride–hoping that I might find a fellow Duluthian over here…no comments…but I still like the hat. I’ll wear it in the Vasaloppet and we’ll see if I find anyone.

    Må så bra!

Aw heck, thanks. And you bet – spirited discussion on trail – what could be better?

I haven’t heard of anyone who’ll be over there for the Big Vasa, but then I’ve been out of that loop since school. Enjoy that blueberry soup!
